Getting the stove ready

This was a 'celebration' event in a Sumatran vilage for over 300 people .(no tourists), stoves ( as in the image were assembled in minutes and cooking started at around 6.00 am.
An army of cooks, shelling coconuts, grinding spices , preparing rice all done with hands and feet and the most basic of tools. As always the men sorted the fire, the women did the hard work - a privlage to be there

Balance of exposure works really well, I like the bright background framing the man at has work
