I thought it looked like, what we call here as a "Horse Fly", they look like a Bee/Wasp, could be wrong though, good colour for the time of the year!

Hi Rees, yes I think it could be a Horse Fly now that you have mentioned it. The picture was actually taken last summer, I'm just running short of new images to post
