I essentially like the shot but the sun is a distraction. Have you considered cloning it out?

No, however I would consider walking that way a bit later in the evening with a tripod and taking some shots straight after sunset or of course soon the tree will be in full leaf and hide the sun anyway.
I've seen too many efforts by people including the sun in a photograph then trying to hide/mask or clone it, to my eye they always end up looking wrong or worse still like a mess.

LIKEd. Sun is not distracting IMHO.

Removing the sun would be the same as removing the windmill, the two focal points of the photo! Would be interesting to see a tripod version though!

Think about what you said Paul, the last thong a photo needs are two focal points Nothing if not distracting!!

Bob, at some stage you and I will have to agree to disagree! Divert your gaze just two centimeters south of this line and you'll find a quote from Bill Brandt! That's what I believe! Let's just refer to one of your own photos, "Menu Cover". In the top right quadrant is a huge distraction, one which you chose not to remove as, presumably, you were satisfied with the overall balance of the composition. I'm sure it wasn't an intentional focal point but by letting it remain you made it one! That was your choice as indeed Nigel's decision to leave the sun in his photo was his choice.
This is probably not the right place for such debate so if you want to continue PMs are probably the way to go.
Touché!
Paul.
