Superb composition with the blossom taking on an almost Infra-Red appearance. The gate adds mystery, as where it might lead to. A good conversion to Black & White - well taken and processed.
Not everything in life is Black & White, If only it were!

Agree, but.....

the patch of brickwork l. of centre detracts from the potential impact of the blossom/gate/dark foliage &, therefore, the focal point of the composition.
Could this area not be darkened-out?

Good point, Roger. The tone of the brick wall is very similar to that of the blossom: they kind of merge.

I'm sure the brick work is historic and for me it fits in perfectly. I agree the picture has an IR feel to it, very atmospheric.
