Tamron 90mm 2.8 macro @ f/9.0
I took the macro to Anglesey Abbey yesterday with a view to taking the snowdrops. Many visitors take this shot but few are so fortunate with the sky. Keeeping the 90mm on all day was an interesting exercise (the wife had the battle-hardened 18-250mm which is still my most used lens). I must say, I'm impressed by what you can get out of a prime and I fear it could trigger a lens buying addiction. It's so sharp I can read the writing on the footpath sign (at Gallery size you'll be lucky to spot the sign, let alone the writing!). Surprising as it was hand held at 1/100s. Only slight downside is it's sharp enough to reveal aliasing on the IIs, but that's easy enough to reduce PP.

I see what you mean about the pastel tones. I processed it in the dark last night. In the light of day it does look a bit flat and lacking in contrast.
I'd appreciate a bit more contructive critique in the Gallery. I think we may try to be too nice here but I'd welcome anything which may help me to improve.

It works for me the pastel tones reflect the stormy day, the dark clouds make the Mill House stand out and I particularly like the way the Mill House reflection cuts the stream in half

Okay, I've uploaded a higher contrast version to flickr. I'm not sure which version I prefer, probably the new one.
