No Mooring !

This was the scene below Mapledurham Lock yesterday. Whilst the moorings above the lock (yesterday's photo) were clear those below the lock for boats heading up-stream were completely flooded. The posts are on the land side of the steel landing stage and the tops of the handrail of the steps leading down are only just visible (bottom right). Any vessel attempting to moor is therefore likely to get 'holed'!
The sign by the towpath gate says 'Lock Cafe Open' !! NOT yesterday !

Close your eyes & count to 20, when you open them the water companies will anounce a hosepipe ban

Larry, believe it or not a spokesman for Thames Water came on local radio yesterday and said 'after all the rain we've had there will NOT be a need for a hosepipe ban for the next 2 years !'
