View over Buttermere

i like the capture but something does not quite sit right with it. not sure if it is the hdr like effect, the composition or the colours. the detail is good though.

I think it is wonderful, although agree with ericp above in part in that there is something almost other-worldly about it... maybe the colours. Not in a bad way though

Perhaps a graduated filter top half? If so then it was a good choice. Perhaps a little more light on the slopes beyond the sunlit greenfields mid-distance might have eased the eye up to the distant hills. Nice detail in the clouds, though the greyness top left is a little distracting.
I like this image. It is well-composed and captures the atmosphere of the high hills.

To be honest, it is an HDR pic.
I use PhotomaticsPro3 and just two original exposures. The originals did have a grey hase in the top left, it was the middle of the afternoon in july.
I know what you mean about the 'other worldlyness', seemed like another world at the time, to be in the lakes and have weather like that!

Well, in my opinion, that's good HDR technique when it leaves the viewer wondering!
I'm not against the sronger or more obvious HDR, but then that's moving towards image manipulation!
