Hover Fly?

I first thought that this insect was a slim wasp but after looking at a book I now believe it to be a 'Hover Fly'. They were really drawn to the pink/red garden lily.

Yes Larry, the camera's 'Pop Up' flash, set to slow sync and diffuser made from milk bottle plastic material.
