DC3

by pauljay

Having made the analogy I now have to put my lens where my mouth is! The bane of aviation photographers is the DC3, or any other tail dragging aircraft. Always difficult to get the horizon correct, as with sloping fields.
Before anyone comments it appears that my sensor had been dragged through a cesspit that day!
These DC3s are used in Florida's Lee County for mosquito spraying.

A favourite aircraft of mine. I'd love to fly in one.

Andrew
Best wishes,

Your chances of flying in one become less and less Andrew. My last one was already a few years ago - a champagne flight over the glaciers of Alaska. Very nice!

I flew in one back in the 80's, fabulous. I've still got the picture I took of the oil spewing out of the engine cowling. Happy days!!
K10D. Tamron 18-250 F3.5/6.3, P-KA 50mm 1.4, Takumar-A 28-80mm F3.5/4.5, Vivitar 70-300mm F4.2/5.8, Teleplus MC-7 2x converter and some Cokin stuff. Also Optio E80(coz I've got big fingers!), Pentax A3 and Chinon CP-7m.

If it wasn't losing oil you'd wonder what was wrong!!

I used to fly in these things around Ethiopia, Somalia, etc. over 40 years ago. The arabs called them "the camels of the air" because of their complete reliability.

This is a good shot of one of the greatest aircraft. Nice soft colours and good exposure.
