Thank YOU ALL and Merry X-MAS. A special reply to Axel becuase you are my favourite in PPG. I want to tell you that this shot is my first using HDR (Photomatix and Photoshop). While taking this pic I was thinking to your ART! IMHO this pic could be a masterpiece if the author was AXEL.

Lovely shot Giulio, pity we can't view it large, I'm sure it would be even more impressive

Hi Giulio
thanks for this compliment - but honestly - if this is your first one - you are already much better then I was at my first HDR. Most people start HDR with shooting ugly sceneries (like old public toilets), totally overturn the effects to get a surreal image and then believe that a HDR toilet is a piece of art . It took me a whikle to use HDR more controlled - by adding certain (and not always the same) characteristics to a picture.
Your HDR is already very far on this road - HDR is not the foreground element of this lovely shot - it is only supporting it, by e.g. combining white snow with dark background elements and to bring out the lovely colors of the building.
And another really good thing is your sky - I find clear blue sky still tricky in programs like Photomatix - yours look very good.

It is really nice HDR shot, Giulio. I like the composition with the snowy trees in the foreground.

The yellow buildings contrast well with the snow Giulio but the OOF bit in the FG should have been avoided as it looks pretty ugly & doesn't contribute anything useful to the scene.

Ian.
