Taken today at the RAF Museum, Cosford, Shropshire.
Apparently it was to do with Air Ministry research into the effects on the body
from 'high g' manoeuvres. Lying 'prone' was thought to possibly mitigate the effects. They even modified a Meteor to test out the theory.
