Hi Barrie,
I started out with the slices sharp but decided that the image looked to static against the background. For better or worse I decided to use a motion blur filter to convey the idea of motion.
Nice of you to take the trouble with some constructive thoughts
Best wishes

Perhaps you could have used 'layers' to blur just the top edges of the slices leaving the rest sharp?
Just an idea
Just an idea

If you'r trying to give the impression of the slices bursting out. Did you try just blurring the trailing edge and leaving the top sharp. like a light trail where you can see the light that is creating it. But don't ask me how.

It should be possible Barrie. I cannot alter the original without starting over but as the original componets are lifted from a previous image "Scrumpy" I can get at the apple slices so will have a go. Possible that I can incorporate Michaels thoughts as well
Thank you both for your interaction.
