Entrance of a Church

I like these churches inside rocks. I go back to Middle Age....and history read on books.

I agree Giulio. I'm interesting to see do you have any pics inside. I'm little bit jealous that we dosen't have anyting that old or that kind of structures here.

Thank you Nezih, for reminding us , yet again, of what a wonderful country Turkey is. I think this might be the Karanlik Kilise , which we translate as the Dark Church in English.It is worth visiting Cappadocia just to visit this site in Goreme. The painting inside has been very carefully restored. I must go back with the K5. My previous pictures were on fast slide film, Pentax MX, and digital will be much more capable, I am sure.
Jukka, you have got Turku cathedral, although I know it's not as old as this it is pretty special.

David, this is another one and is located on the way to the Dark Church in which the frescos are best preserved and restored, as you say. I had the K5 with me, but I was not allowed to take any pictures even without flash. Great pity!

Nezih, I remember now as you say photography wasn't allowed in the best ones, like the Church of the Apple and the Sandal Church. It is fair enough,they want us to buy the books and it can be distracting when you have to wait for everyone to take a picture before you can see anything! Still, a fantastic place. The Tokali Kilise had some wonderful painting with blue backgrounds, I remember.
