Beautiful sky, I think mainly cirrus uncinus (also known as mares tails).

The dark sky is rather like you'd get using BW film and dark red filter.

It is difficult to mis-identify a Grodgeman PP job. It is a fine thing to have an individual style--which some photographers never develop.I can't say I always like your more radical bleak treatments, that sometimes seem to be efforts to trump nature, but more often than not, as here, they work just fine.

Thanks, go4IT, for your flattering and pertinent remark. I'm not to sure about the implications of "Trumping" nature in our day and age - the real thing will probably do enough of that. It's just that I believe a photo should not be just representational, but try to add to, warp, offset, enhance, mystify, reveal, suggest, seek an effect (albeit gratuitous), state, send a message. It may sound pretentious regarding my efforts, but I really do enjoy dabbling with my K-r (lighter, simpler and genarally niftier than the dust-gathering K-3, K-50, K-70), my Macs, and all the software and coming up with something different and still have a lot to learn. Trying for a mix of Robert Frank and Ansel Adams and Edward Hopper (the list could go on, but these are the greatests). Makes photography aesthetically and technically a really satisfying hobby. Cheers, and thanks again.
