Scarlet Elf Cup

Test of my DA 55-300 for nature shots. Handheld with lens on full extension to 300mm hence any unsharpness is probably me shaking !

Thanks to you both for your kind comments. In reality this was one of those 'lucky' shots that we sometimes get. I spotted something bright red under the trees and thought at first it was a bit of discarded plastic so went to retrieve it. I was thrilled to find what it was but it's location made it very difficult to get a good view and the long minimum focus with the 55-300 lens meant using the full 300 to get a reasonably large image and the diagonal view just happened that way. Also, whilst at the time I was concentrating on the red fungus it was only later when I uploaded it to my PC that I realised the effect of the textures in the surroundings. 'Serendipty rules - OK'
