Run-off Channel

Photo Information
I'm not sure of the correct name for these run-off channels, but they are around all the locks on the local stretches of the Chesterfield Canal. This one was shot with a narrow aperture, only for the reason of achieving a sufficiently low shutter speed to get the right texture on the water.

Love the diagonal of the stream and embankment dividing the scene into two parts, even as the foreground clump of grasses unites them. The water, by the way, is expertly rendered, whereas many photographers overdue the slow shutter technique. Like.
