Why bother with RAW and PDCU4 when the K-r + DA55-300 (at 300mm) gives this with NO pp (apart from a trim) ? I defer to John Riley !

Many thanks, Nigel & thanks for your comments.
I have to admit that I was a bit 'tongue in cheek' when I posted this 'as is' as I felt it really did need a bit of 'brightening up' and possibly a bit os extra sharpening (that's what I often do, along with the trimming, using ZoomBrowser).
What impressed me was the performance of the K-r + DA 55-300 combination used in 'point & shoot' mode.
Since I got this lens after recommendations from this Forum I owe a debt of gratitude.
Best wishes
Peter

Why bother with any PP? Well, personally, I'd prefer an exposure increase. You got a good shutter speed with your settings, so you may have been limited at time of shooting, but in PP you can boost the exposure a stop or so with no significant loss of quality. I think you could easily apply 2/3rd - 1 stop increase.
The only other things that might benefit the shot in PP could be applying a slightly warmer tinge, maybe a couple of steps in PCU4 in the amber direction on the WB tab? The foreground would benefit with this in particular I think.
Any finally, if printed larger I wonder if the noise in the background might detract a bit - a small amount of noise reduction here would ensure a nice clean out of focus background.
