Photo of the Week by mcrtchly

After 4 months in lock down, only allowed 5km from our house in Ireland, it is really great to be able to grab the cameras and get back out and about in Donegal. But the early morning starts are something of a shock!

Nice start mcrtchly and that’s the main thing and it’s only going to earlier as each week passes. I’ve often not bothered with sleep to be on time for dawn but can’t have a drink to pass the time love the violet colour bye the way

Well worth getting up for.

Shocked and delighted to get POTW after being unable to do any landscape photography for over 4 months due to COVID restrictions. Unfortunately my photography business in running photo tours has suffered over the last 12 months and I don't know when we'll be able to do overseas tours again. But at least I was able to provide timelapse sequences from my archive to a Channel 5 TV series on 'Coastal Ireland' presented by Adrian Dunbar.

This photo of the lake at Errigal is one frame from a timelapse sequence of 350 frames. It will form part of a long term project to produce a timelapse film of County Donegal which we hope to finish later this year (or maybe next year as we weren't able to get out to catch snowy scenes this year due to the restrictions). At least my cameras had a bit of rest due to the restrictions and time to get some repairs, including a new shutter on one of K1 bodies due to failure after over 100,000 exposures - timelaspe photography can take its toil on cameras!

A lovely image and well deserved POTW.

Sorry to hear about the challenges of the last year. All the best for this year, you deserve it.
