Pathside dragonfly

by petrochemist

I was lucky enough to spot a dragonfly sunbathing while out walking this afternoon. Only had the K5 & kit zoom with me but it was patient enough for me to have multiple tries at capturing it's likeness.

Nice... male Southern [or Blue] Hawker....Aeshna cyanea.
Lovely to catch it unawares and get a decent picture... nice.... Blue is the "new" name for it.
Never be afraid to talk about your techniques...
