Sorry Neilr but this is not an Orchid, this is Indian Balsam,( Impatiens grandulifera) and is quite rampant, thats probably why the Dale is full of them. Nice shot though.

thanks for that flowers not my strong point. the place was coverd in them fantastic range of colours deep purple through pinks to the ones above. first sets of pics forgot camera was at iso3200 thought shutter speed was fast.

According to the EXIF your ISO was 200 if it was 3200 it would be full of noise
