Nimrod

A shot from Elvington, home of the Yorkshire Air Museum. It was long, wet but intersting day.

Nice shot head on and filled the frame.
Formerly known as "COMET" The first commercial passenger jet airliner. The only one I've ever flown in with the seat facing backwards. Before B.A. and before B.E.A. It was then B.O A.C. They were then sold and had a further useful life with Dan Air. Then of course converted to "NIMROD" They did at one time have a problem with the wings caused by metal fatigue.
I'm not an aeroplane fanatic. I just happen to have flown in them quite a few times.
CHEERS Vic.
Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.

Nimrods were new-builds Vic not conversions! Sadly, I only ever flew in one Comet, a Dan-Air example, Gatwick - Malmö - Gatwick, jump seat.
Nice shot John but it would be even nicer to see the whole aircraft!
Paul.
