Moon - Waning Gibbous

by MikeInDevon

From tonight, still trying to get a reasonable Moon shot. Attached K-1 directly to my Meade ETX-105 telescope. Manual focus and exposure. With the telescope mounted like this it is apparently 1830mm at f17.4, shot at ISO800 and 1/400sec as the moon sure moves fast! PP with Dx0

Quite amazing how fast it does whip across the field of view if there is no means of following it !
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Welldone Mike!! Cool that the Meade could handle the K1?

It's not just the moon moving... remember we're moving too!! At almost 700mph'ish

Thanks guys!

It's definitely a 'work in progress'.

Well the Meade ETX-105 drive can't really manage the weight, I was having to manually point at the Moon. I'll have try using the ETX-125 as it has a stronger drive system. Just need a clear night, could be a while.

Cheers
Mike
