Mighty Flow

by Nigelk

Inspired by Bill Ward's article I've had a play with photographing water at different shutter speeds and looking for patterns and form.
Living in Suffolk there is not much in the way of interesting flowing water so I started with water dripping into a water butt in the garden, the photographs of which could at best be described as interesting. We do have a small steam flowing through our property but as said being flat Suffolk there is barely a ripple. I wandered further down steam and could not believe my luck a tree has fallen across the steam creating a very cluttered and very small but interesting area of water movement. The posted pic is one of my better efforts.
It was fun to have a play and I look forward to doing more when I visit areas with faster rivers, I also have the sea not a long drive away.

Surreal almost "abstract-scape"

I like that a lot. Unusual. I am not a massive fan of milky water. I do love Bill's images. But it's not just water, it's the colors, the framing. This is a cool effect

I was inspired by Bill Ward myself and posted mine a few days ago. This is really nice

I've just been and had a look, yours is also very nice. I found myself focusing on smaller and smaller pieces of water, seeing patterns within patterns.

Bags of potential in this place. Bags of interest in this photo too.

Very subtle use of pastel colours.

Nigel, you have a "keeper" here. Salvador Dali, wake up and take a look at this one!
