Great street result. The composition is important in what you are saying about this gentleman's and his dog's situation. A lower up front stare into the camera could also show character of dignity or despair. Or any emotion really. The viewer is left to contemplate of his desires and dreams. Or maybe his hopeless state. Gives us a jolt doesn't it? Well done.

I agree great street shot. I always ask myself if they are that destitute why have a dog, is just another expense, but that's me.

Re destitute and dogs, Yesterday a homeless vet declined a contribution from me. Asking why, he said I see your a vet ( a Vet pin) keep the money, your a vet and you may need it someday.( I'll give the money to another vet) Like this man he was smiling, had a dog and, thank goodness, is still alive.
