Green Parakeets are now a common site throughout the Greater London area and some places now have large flocks. These 2 are part of a flock living in Trent Park (North London near to Cockfosters station)
Taken on the K-r with the Sigma 18-250 at full zoom, hand held, on a bitter cold day.

Many thanks, Russ.
I believe the wild Parakeet population started in South London a few years ago and much to everyone's surprise they have prospered and multiplied. Initially they were confined to S London/ N Surrey but have spread out over a much greater area. The flock in Trent Park (S Herts) has been there several years and they have recently been spotted in W Berkshire !
These were quite difficult to 'capture' as they didn't stay in one place for very long !
Best regards
Peter

I think the reason they can survive our winters is due to the fact that they come from Northern India where I believe it can get a lot colder than here.

We have quite a few in the Crystal Palace area. I'm surprised they survive our (now) very cold winters.
