This was a five shot pseudo hdr from one pic, as I struggled to get the lighting right on this one. First attempt at hdr from one shot(after a suggestion from 2megs on a previous pic)then slight curves and sharpening.

Thanks for the explanation, fascinating; I'll give it a go but I dont hold out much hope of getting it this good.
