He's watching you!

I found this handsome fellow in my kitchen today and decided to capture him, in more ways than one.
Using my K10 with auto bellows and a reversed 50mm F2, he was illuminated with a Metz 48AF (1/32 full power). I realized he would not stay still long enough for me to compose the picture, stop down and, manually fire the flash, I remembered reading about the technique of slowing them down by popping them in the freezer for a few minutes. So, after getting a rough idea of the focus and sorting out the lighting, into the freezer he duly went. After coming out he was popped on to the head head of a daisy and sat, for long enough, for me to give the focus and composition a final check before I fired of a series off shots.

It wasn't too bad, you have to work fairly rapidly when you take them out the freezer, they're active in a couple of minutes once they get back to room temp again. In all it took about 20 minutes.
