I'm guessing that it has something to do with the Queen's Jubilee celebrations, either that or it is one of the airshow display aircraft.
They sometimes have custom paint jobs.

Thanks Karlo, I also thought it had something to do with the jubilee or, possibly, the olympics.

Hi Karlo,

You are correct, it is an airshow display aircraft. Below is the response I got from the Valley Aviation Society.

Dear Mr Jones,

The colourful Hawk you have seen was one of the two display jets that are used for the 2012 air show season. Each display pilot get to have a display colour scheme of their choice provided their get sponsorship for the paint job!!! This year the display pilots is Flight Lieutenant Philip Bird.
