I respect your opiniom Senn and personally choose to avoid trying to moralise the situation and just enjoy the beauty of the bird. The handler clearly respects and cares for her birds - they always appear happy, healthy and well looked after - and 5 minutes earlier I was enjoying watching him fly around in the open.

Most of us choose to be captive in our own way - in my case - a 60 hours a week job, mortgage, wife, 3 kids, a horse, a dog and a cat!

Wow - that was deep for me - must have been a really hard week

I'm breaking my own rule as I am trying not to post anything until all decorating/ renovating is complete here at home - is there a better illustration of accepted captivity

Nice shot, lovely colour and sharpness.

I for none hate to see animals that are unhappy the fella above seems fine. We 'tie up' horses, dogs, toddlers in various ways mostly for their own good (maybe not birds) - I too hate to moralise a situation I have not witnessed however, the bird above seems to be happy and when you consider that being in relative captivity he has his very own role in educating kids of today to respect wildlife which can only be a good thing.

Harry has the option to fly away - he does not - simple really.
