Hanging Pheasants

by MikeInDevon

Hanging pheasants in braces outside in the chilly air close to the entrance of a local Farm shop.

Beautiful colours but still not a pretty sight, just caught my eye.

K-1 with Helios-44M at f4.0, manual focus using Liveview, lightly post processed and cropped with DxO.

More than likely from a driven shoot but hanging pheasant were a common sight in my childhood.

And they call it sport, rearing and taming these lovely creatures only to be frightened into the path of the guns and shot certainly doesnt seem like sport to me.

I agree.... i see a lot of these wonderful birds.

Being driven into the sights of gun is wrong in my eyes.

An ethical argument could also be made for the chicken curry menu or the fish or the cow or the poor lamb dinner.
The land and its food supply has been managed for more than a thousand years, it is folly to fool oneself otherwise.
Would one feel sorry for the bugs that future think tanks want as a food supply for the masses.

i must take new photos as i am digressing
