Griffon vulture
by Blaze
Taken today at our local zoo.
I forgot my tripod so ended up taking shots in 'sports' mode to help avoid shake !
Kx + DL 55-300
I actually met another Pentax user (Kr+DL55-300) which made a change from the army of Canons and Nikons.

Thank you, Giulio They are so unafraid of humans that we could go right up to them (but certainly not to touch - those beaks are razor sharp !!!).

That's really lovely Sally - that bokeh really sets the bird off.

Thank you, Mary, Nuri and Charlotte
The path went through trees and some of the birds were resting on the ground beside the path, and some were roosting on posts. I liked the way the sun made a dappled effect.
