Good Friday

by Peter Elgar

I saw this at the annual Good Friday event in Brentwood High Street at the service held in the Beckett Chapel Ruins-I was covering it for local newspapers-this photo was used in B/W in the Yellow Advertiser. K10D+18-55mm lens.

Peter, some very poignant symbolism here: devotion, light and dark (so appropriate for good friday), shadows and the cross's comparative strength over its shadow in this image (I think of 'though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death') ... very evocative. I would think the black and white was quite (perhaps more?) effective. Perhaps the lighter area at the bottom could be cropped, or better, cloned? Nice attention to detail amid a day of large themes.
