Gone!

Skimming below the cliff tops at Beachy Head, the cross just in frame is one of many left to mark the spot where a loved one departed prematurely.

Excellent shots..both of them, from a very unusual vantage point...makes a change from directly underneath.

Thanks Karlo, nice series of yours from Fairford as well, BTW. I keep meaning to get back to Fairford but got frightened off by the silly prices a few years ago (for advanced tickets only - and dependant on weather).

Dave

Thanks Dave. Yeah, I know what you mean about the prices and weather considerations. I held off buying a ticket until about a week before the sunday...too far back really to be able to accurately forecast the weather, but the saturday had already sold out and apparently when I booked there were only a few hundred sunday tickets left...my son was really looking forward to it so we gambled on the weather. In the event it could have been a lot worse.

Now that my son had reached 16 though he was paying the full adult rate. Some of his mates who had come in previous years didn't this year because it was no longer free! I suppose it balances out if they've had a few years at no cost before they reach 16. Taking all expenses into account though (2 admissions, advance purchase program, petrol, motorway services burgers...) no change from £155!

Anyway, i'll probably still do it all again next year...the 'Field' and campsite have crossed my mind Stu but we do still like to spend a couple of hours walking round the static display/trade stands which unfortunately you can't do from outside.

cheers

Karlo

Thanks, Stu, but I'm with Karlo on this one. I do like to wander through the static display for a few hours, there's usually plenty there that you won't see flying in the displays.
