Do you have any opportunity to get the birds down nearer to ground level Brian, so you could shoot the pics at a more level perspective and not have sky in the background? I use my garden shed as a hide - I've cut a square hole in the back and hinged it with door hinges, this makes a superb hide and lets me get close to the birds visiting the feeders. With your Sigma 150-500mm you should be able to get some stunners.
