Is this Kidnapper's cove perchance? Have just been there last week. Love the photo!

Close but this is over on the west of the North Island. West coast near Auckland, Muriwai Beach.

Hope you are enjoying your visit

Thanks - we certainly are enjoying our visit! The rocks leading out to sea are not dissimilar to those at Hawkes Bay!

Great news, look forward to the photos .

Yes, similar rock types in both places, but better wine in the Hawkes Bay

How long are you hear for? Weather has been great for months but looks a bit poor in places for the next week.

Hi Richard - only just picked this up. We did a wine cycle tour at Hawkes Bay; great fun! We have jut got back to England today. Part of the tour was going up the West coast on South Island a few days before the bridge at Franz Josef was washed away!

Wow, great timing. That stretch of road/coast is pretty remote, rugged and isolated. The bridge being out will cause a lot of disruption, so glad you could make it through ok.
