fitting the hinges

by davidwozhere

Properly termed 'sinking' the hinges in the lid of an oak box destined to contain a ceremonial sceptre. The Mark 1 Black and Decker Workmate is at least 40 years old and nearly (not quite) clapped out. It is so useful that I acquired another one many years ago to replace it but it hasn't yet been used.

Nice study, David.
And some nicely executed joinery on the end caps.

See you've still got the marking gauge as well.
Our woodwork master would rap our knuckles if he saw us sharpening pencils with our marking knife !
Those were the days !
(And I've still got my Workmate as well !)

Best regards
Peter

Hard to let things go sometimes isn't it! Delightful shot!
