Finch Foundry

On the edge of Dartmoor. Really a forge rather than a foundry.

G'day Andrew. This is an irresistible scene with it's interesting arrangement of objects, shapes, tones & lovely colour.
The light on the left side is a bit harsh but there wasn't much you could do about that apart from using a tripod & HDR processing.
Regards, Ian.

I like the whole scene. Subdued colours, but the lighting and focus are both spot on for me and despite the odd assortment of objects the whole works well.

Would love to know what vehicle the wheel came from !

Thanks both. There was an open door way to the left, Ian, hence the harsh, directional lighting. No tripod (slack work, I know); hate HDR!!
Best wishes,

Andrew

HDR doesn't have to be gross even if most of it's practitioners like it that way.

Thanks Lowela. The lighting was so complimentary: it was an easy shot to make, compare to the rest of the day.

I know, Paul, it's more satisfying than taking the photograph!
Best wishes,

Andrew
