Great pose. You snook up on it very well. (It's a common darter).
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Brilliant detail, not easy to get such a cracking shot, that lens must be good. K3 lll is on my wish list and maybe that lens should be?

Hi David

Thanks for your comments; the 300mm DA* ( f4) and its sibling the 200mm (f2, DA* are nothing short of astonishing.

The 300mm on an APS body is the best wild life lens I have used in terms of IQ , compactness and versatility; the 200mm is even more impressive in terms of IQ in lower light situations and If I am doing sporting shoots (particularly indoors ) is as good as it gets matching the quality of the best “indoor prime lens” I have owned and used in terms of I Q - the Sigma Art 35mm F 1.4; which I use when I an up close at court-side - without flash

I rarely use my DFA 100 macro other than on tiny subjects such as very small insects and use my 150-450 only on a tripod, in a hide; but walking in the field and on BIF the 300 has no equal in my view and both my 300 and 200 are more than ten years old and have been hammered; anyway thanks for your very kind and encouraging comments which are very much appreciated.

Hi Daronl

Excellent shot, spot-on focus on the head. I also love my DA*300, especially on my KP, it never fails me and is one that I'll never sell unless it breaks, in which case I'll buy another one! I share your thoughts on the macro lens, I only use it for very close shots, otherwise it's the 300 all the way.

Kind Regards
David

Well, now I would really like a DA*300mm or 200mm. Great shot.
