Elastic Wheel, about 1900

Shot at the car museum in Turin. This special tire was donated by Michelin Italiana to the museum. The plate reads:
"It comprised and iron rim with a solid rubber tread and was supported by groups of strings. These wheels were launched as a valid alternative to tyres because they couldn't be punctured."
