Dusk in Runswick Bay, Yorkshire

by OldTaffy

Runswick Bay village is a network of small alleys. This old street lamp, at the corner of two alleys, has been adapted for electicity. Across the bay, the lights of farm buildings mark the ridge of Kettleness.

I love Runswick! Obviously I should go during the evening hours. Nice one!

Thanks, friends, for your comments. My wife has known Runswick for most of her life. As a teenager she sometimes crewed on one of the inshore fishing boats (cobles). Only a few of her old friends remain now. Most of the cottages are holiday homes to well off owners. But it keeps the village clean and smart, otherwise the collapse of the fishing would have led to the dereliction of most of the cottages.
