Dragonfly larva case

Taken then processed using Zerene Stacker.
A little disappointed with the sharpness of the final image, since the software reduced the pixels (excessively).
any experiences with this software / advice would be most welcome!

I've no experience of the stacker software you used. I have had some success with a package called CombineZM.

The image at the top of this thread was made using CombineZM and 22 separate images.

CombineZM is free, just Google it to find it. Once installed and running, select File > New, choose your frames and wait until it shows one of the images, then select Macro > Do Stack. When it's finished, save the resulting image.

One thing I have learned is to do all the work in TIF format and convert to JPG only at the end.

Hope that helps.
