I don't know if the location allowed it, but I wonder if the boulders would give a stronger composition if they were completely in the frame, rather that cut through at the bottom ?
Certainly it conveys 'desolate' though, with the dark, sombre skies.

It has a sense of being there at the time. Just what you arrive at and ready for the onward journey. No pretty, pretty, which ends up pretty damn fine. Because it's the natural and what we see when we walk. Do I want a view to die for every time I see a photograph. No I don't. I want to think and reflect on what is in front my eyes. I'm thinking 'gotta get across this in front of me'. Real, very real.

Thanks for the comments guys, I posted this image because it is 'ordinary' and I think it conveys the desolate nature of the place. Sometimes I like something that is 'ordinary'!
