Love it - the shades in the mist and the orange on the sky work really nicely. The trees, especially the central one, might have acted as a barrier to travelling through the image but they don't for me largely because of the valley feeding in from the bottom right.

The only thing that detracts (a little) for me, is the aircraft con trail in the centre of the sky.

Interesting layerscape and useful pine-trees as foreground

Sublime image...really like it.

Those trees provide a great framing and the muted shades work very well.

Didn't notice the aircraft contrail at all...and doesn't detract at all for me.

Contender for POTW in my opinion.

Agree with above (including POTW contender!)

Great depth provided by contrasting layers of mostly homogenous tones, and of course the silhouetted conifers. The low hanging mist in the central portion adds much to the etherealized-versus-solid theme.
POTW? Mais oui!

Thank you for the likes and very positive comments. Swarf/Phil I have now a new version without the con trail.

Nigel

The only thing that really matters is whether or not it is better to your eye!

With or without the contrail, it's still a great image and, as others have said, well worthy of POTW.

I didn't even notice the con trail until it was pointed out. Wonderful picture, with or without it.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Super tones create a good feel of the location
