This is a nice picture. By my opinion the converting to B/W was a great idea. I really like it.

I like it too - and agree it makes a great B/W, especially having such a pure background. Having tried myself to get decent shots of birds in flight I know how difficult it is (for me at least)

Split second timing, spot on shutter speed and quick reactions have resulted in a wonderful shot of birds in action.
