Context for Some Glass Canvases

by hocusfocus

Tamron 70-200mm. This morning, took this shot to put some context on at least one of the many "Look Up" photos I have posted over the past 10 months. Here, you see a long stretch of glass facade of the Atrium building on Elm Street, and on the right, a glimpse of an old building on Yonge Street (the main street of Toronto, and the longest street in the world, running several hundred miles south to north), which is 90-degrees to Elm Street. The variety of reflections, left to right, is amazing, I think.

I do like this pic but it could work more fine showing those reflections, glasses and "CIBC" only" CIBC sign is the referring point IMHO. It splits the real world by "magical"one of reflections

Tend to agree with Giulio but its still a wonderful image though I think it would be better without the masonry structure on the right. . A main street hundreds of miles long? How many Starbucks are there along its length.

Guess it's my day to be misunderstood. Esthetics not my concern, fellas. I deliberately left in the CIBC sign and the Yonge Street building, and also named the glass building (The Atrium), in order, for once, to make the point that every Look Up photo zeroed in on a particular building in a particular place within downtown Toronto, even though I chose not to name the building or its location. Note I did not assign a "Look Up" title to this photo. As for Yonge Street, the Guinness Book of Records named it the longest street in the world at 1180 kilometers because until very recently Yonge Street was at one and the same time The King's Highway 11---and that highway indeed is 1186 kilometers, stretching as it does to the Manitoba border. Now that Yonge Street is no longer recognized as being part of Highway 11, Yonge Street is a "mere" 86 kilometers---keeping its name even as it wanders to several out-of-Toronto towns. Number of Starbucks??? Your guess is as good as mine. LOL.
