Kurer K4 Anchor
by johnriley
We have some strange oddments in our house that we use as "ornanments" - this one is a 23cm tall demo model of a Kurer K4 Anchor. Reduce its size considerably to get to the real object, which is a screw in post for the restoration of teeth. The root is drilled out, a thread prepared and the anchor is screwed in. Then the brass head is drilled to an appropriate shape and the rest of the tooth preparation made. The smaller screws are for alternative techniques, composite heads, etc. Now we can appreciate the beauty of the demo object and it also makes a nice conversation starter! The Kurer Amchor System was designed by Peter and Hans Kurer, in Manchester. Both were superb speakers and teachers as well as superb dentists.
