The moment of lift off

This is a type of shot that I thought I wouldn't like. As with Martin's (later retracted) shot I find that it does work for me here. (So maybe my assumption of not liking that type of shot was wrong, and the only
thing I don't like are badly made shots of this type...)
Although one can still identify what the subject is, the shapes and colours are taking over the picture. It does look like a dream of gulls rather than an image of them.
