Time Ravaged

by davidtrout

I know it doesn't regulate time but neither do clocks and watches, they record time. This rust is instrumental in recording the passage of time just as a clock is. Hope it fits in with your idea for this competition.

David, I think this might be my favorite of yours! A pic that's strong in color AND form AND composition, then allows for contemplation -- what is this a picture of, why "44", how did it come to be so neglected, etc, etc.

Worthy of a wall, IMO.

Thanks Emily. Its a rusty old steam locomotive at the Tanfield Railway, near where I live in the North East of England. They have old engines that were used years ago in collieries and steelworks, not on the mainlines. Some they've restored to working order, many like this one, will never steam again. It's full of rusty holes. The 44 was the engine's number.
