I think this works well. I like the contrast between the even, deep blue, sky and the bright white textured surface of the lighthouse. The little aeroplane is an added bonus.

I have to assume that the non-vertical aspect of the lighthouse is intentional. I am pulled between this creating an artistic effect and wondering if it might drive some people spare.

However I think it makes a great backdrop. It has plenty of space for the placement of icons. Only the bottom creates some detail for hints and reminders to peek around the edge of open windows but that wonderful blue sky goes nearly all the way around.
