Colourfest

by hocusfocus

My entry in last week's Intentional Camera Movement contest. This image was very difficult to capture: it took more than two dozen failures before being rewarded with the effect I was looking for. I took a bunch of coloured pencils, tips pointing vertically (north), and then, during the 1.6 sec exposure, I pivoted the camera upwards against a neutral brown background, making it appear the pencils are erupting and spewing their colours straight up into the air. Pentax KS-2, with Pentax-DA f/1.8 50mm lens, @ 1.6 seconds, f/22, ISO 100.
